Drivers for ride-hail services Uber and Lyft describe a gulp-and-go mentality when it comes to fetching fares across a city steeped in violence, from which they’ve been far from immune.

Carjacking reports citywide have fallen by half since this time last year. But since March 2023, at least eight ride-hail drivers have been carjacked by passengers in Orleans Parish, according to a Times-Picayune analysis of police logs. Read the rest of the article here.
